Does God Create Everything You Say?

Isaiah 57:19 says, “I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the Lord; and I will heal him.”

God creates the fruit of your lips. Does this mean you can say something once and God will do it? No! Some people use this verse to countenance the idea that we can command God to do what we want. Or that some people bring catastrophe upon themselves by speaking fear-filled words. We don’t have the authority to command God. He is our Lord! We do have the authority to speak what He speaks and expect Him to be faithful to His Word. That is who He is – faithful. You do need to watch your words and your thoughts, bringing them into alignment with God’s will. However, if you speak a fearful word in a moment of crisis or without thinking, does that mean that word will be created?

Today, God reminded me of the Israelites in the wilderness.

Numbers 11:1 – And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and His anger was kindled…”

Numbers 11:10 – (concerning manna) Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of the Lord was kindled greatly

Numbers 13:26-14:31 – (When 10 of the 12 spies brought a bad report of the Promised Land, saying they could not enter into the land because the inhabitants were too strong, they all started murmuring and saying they would die in the wilderness.) 27 (God said) How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against Me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against Me. 28 Say unto them, “As truly as I live, saith the Lord, as you have spoken in My ears, so will I do to you.”

Yes, God gave them what they spoke so rashly. But He was merciful for a long time before He let them have what they had spoken so many times. It had become a lifestyle for them to complain. They retained their slave mentality despite God’s deliverance, provision, miracles and promises. They had murmured and complained from the time they left Egypt, but it wasn’t until they refused to enter the Promised Land and said again that they would be better off dying in the wilderness that God created the fruit of their lips. He also created the fruit of Joshua’s and Caleb’s lips who said they were well able to take the land with God’s help.

Maybe you have gotten in the habit of complaining. If so, it is time to reconsider your thought life. Be obedient to God and be transformed into the image of Christ by renewing your mind with His Word. Be persistent in speaking God’s Word, no matter the circumstances. It may be your overall outlook on life and subsequent words in your life that He creates. Yes, you will answer for every idle, useless, unbelieving word you speak (Matthew 12:36). God may create what you speak one time, but He is also merciful. If your heart is right, and you truly repent of your negative words, I believe He will be merciful and not create everything we speak. Take your thoughts captive before they become a mindset leading down the wrong path. You don’t want to “die in the wilderness!”

Notice the second part of Isaiah 57:19. God wants us to have peace and to heal us. You won’t have peace until you take your thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Covid: Is It God’s Judgment on America?

At the beginning of the pandemic, I heard a preacher saying this was God’s judgment on America for all the abortions that have been and are being done. He went on to “prove” this by starting at Wuhan, China. He said it started there because of God’s judgment on that part of China because they eat babies there. I don’t know if this is true or not. The CIA says it’s false, but they’re not the most trustworthy bunch. There are numerous websites covering both sides of the issue. Which is why I found it odd that this preacher cited as his source one of the places that said it is false. Why would he do that?

I can only think of two reasons. Either he was careless and put down the wrong site, or he didn’t care because he knew the congregation trusted him and no one would look it up. I believe he made an assumption about this being God’s judgment for abortion and then looked for “evidence” to support his opinion. Admittedly, I could be wrong. And it IS possible this is God’s judgment. However, I tend to lean toward the opinion of one prophet I heard. (A prophet with a pretty good track record in delivering God’s Word. Not one hailed as a great prophet despite prophesies not being true. But that’s another story.)

This prophet said we are still in the era of grace. While it’s true that I heard him say that several years ago, and things may have changed since then, it’s my belief we’re still under grace. We are having to live with the consequences of decisions of ungodly people and the consequences of having a complacent Church. Also, complications from an unredeemed Earth. From what I’ve read in the Bible, God’s judgment will be much more severe than what we are seeing now.

Whenever a catastrophe hits a place like New Orleans or San Francisco, the “prophets” claim it is God’s judgment on their sin. However, if it hits someplace that is little known, no such claim is made. They pick and choose where God is pouring out His judgment. For instance, Hurricane Katrina was God’s judgment on New Orleans, while Hurricane Michael was not considered God’s judgment on Panama City, Mexico Beach and Marianna, Florida even though it devastated the entire area.

So, is Covid God’s judgment on America? Probably not. More likely, it is an escaped manufactured pathogen from Wuhan’s biological warfare lab. The Bible does warn us there will be plagues in the last days. I would caution everyone to be prepared to meet their Maker, while trusting Him to keep any plague from us. (Psalm 91)

Covid-19

There has been so much craziness this past year about the virus from Wuhan, China. Details change from day to day. Masks are not effective. Masks are the only thing that is going to save your life! Masks are not effective. Masks are mandatory for the safety of everyone! You need to wear your mask outdoors, indoors, even in your own home. You must stay at least 6 feet apart! Sanitize everything! Stay home! Shut down the country! It’s the only way we’ll survive this pandemic!
There are a couple of things I know for sure, though.
 When someone tries to make another person feel guilty and tries to shame them for wearing a mask or not wearing a mask, that is not Christ-like behavior.
 Fear is not from God.
 There will be other pandemics, probably worse ones.
Jesus said in Matthew 24:7, about the last days, “For nation shall rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse places.”
The word ‘pestilence,’ according to Strong’s Concordance (3061) means Pestilence, Trouble maker, Public menace.
According to The New Webster’s Dictionary, ‘pestilence’ means: a deadly epidemic disease// something morally or socially pernicious (destructive, extremely injurious or deadly).
I think it is pretty obvious we’re at least approaching the last days, so what do we do?
 Trust God. Ps. 91:5-7: Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
As the 3 Hebrew children said (Daniel 3:17-18), “If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thy hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.”

Psalm 91:14-15 – Because he has set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high because he has known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.

So, God can protect us from sickness, but even if we get sick, we continue to worship God. In the meantime, seek God and put him first in your life.

Deception in the Church, Part 3

New Age Terminology

As I said before, New Age strategy is to take over the Christian church from within. One of their methods is to use Christian terminology, but change the meaning.

I have only given a few here, ones that I’ve encountered myself. Many people who have left the New Age movement and come to the Christian church have been confused by, appalled by, or terrorized by finding the same thing they left being promoted in churches across the world.

I personally grew up with New Age teaching in the form of Scientology. I am so glad that, even though I didn’t know Jesus, I resisted Scientology with every fiber of my being. While the terms were different, they still have the same “flavor” as the popular “shift” and other words used by many false prophets today. It made me very uneasy, along with the manipulation of “doing something in the natural to bring about that thing in the spiritual” realm. You don’t find that in the Bible.

When I accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, my mother told me that Scientology and Christianity were not in opposition to each other. Jesus was an “operating thetan” which is what scientologists strive to become. Jesus showed the way to do it. So, she “believed in” Jesus.

Here are a few of the terms in use today:
