Charles and I have served as teachers, deacons, and elders in our service to God over the years. Early on, we were inspired by Pastor Paul Estes, who later moved to another town. He made sure his congregation knew the Scriptures. His messages were always straight from the Word of God.
Embracing the new adventure God has set before us, we are learning to make new friends, and doing and learning new things. It is a brand new start for us and we are making the most of it. We’re currently involved with our local food bank, as well as Operation Christmas Child, and are looking forward to what our Lord has in store for us in the future.
Meanwhile, as time permits, I will continue with my hobbies – woodcarving; and weaving on a rigid heddle loom. One of my goals is to become a master carver, but I have a long way to go to reach that goal! Still, I believe that with God’s help I can achieve it. And it will be fun working towards becoming that good.
Our two marvelous sons brighten my life, along with their wonderful wives. We have five grandchildren and a brand new great-granddaughter! We reside with my 112 lb. Labrador/Great Dane mix, a pointer/who-knows-what mix, and 3 rescue cats. I have retired from raising alpacas, but it was fun while I was doing it. My husband is retired, so I am learning to adjust to no quiet time anymore.
